Absolutely beautiful music. Great lyrics, great harmonies, great sentiments and a great band. Lovely to hear after so many years.

If y’all want to get picky, his name was “Mark Lavon Helm”… The “Levon” spelling and pronunciation came later. May he rest in peace.

That’s Roebuck “Pops” Staples of the Staples Singers. Mavis Staples sung on the second verse. They rest helped sing back-up.

To those who have been critical about by not spelling Levon’s first name correctly. You try to type dealing with arthritic hands and feeling bad about personal family matters you can’t fix. I’m not as perfect as some people out there think they are. However, I feel I do pretty good for a 61 year old grandmother.

Immense, good to see Rob da Bank (Bestival founder) in the Times at the weekend saying that Levon Helm was the best singer/drummer ever. Can’t disagree.

My auntie gave be a copy of this DVD when I was 18. That was around 8 years ago. It’s been my favorite concert dvd ever since. We’ll miss you, Mr. Helm. Thanks for your time with us.
